Getting started with Todrise

A 5-minute tour of Todrise — what it is, where things live, and how it fits together.

Todrise is a local-first workspace that unifies four daily tools: a quick-capture inbox, rich notes, todos with reminders, and multi-provider AI chat. Everything lives on your device first; cloud sync is strictly opt-in.

Where things live

The inbox is the default landing surface — capture first, triage later.
  • Inbox — fast captures that you triage later. Throw a thought, a link, or a screenshot here and decide what it becomes.
  • Notes — Markdown + LaTeX + code highlighting + attachments. The place for things that should outlive today.
  • Todos — tasks with due dates, reminders, subtasks, and a built-in Pomodoro focus mode.
  • AI chat — bring your own key, talk to Claude / GPT / Gemini / DeepSeek and more, and use @-mentions to point the model at any of the above.

First steps

  • Open the app and land on the inbox — start by capturing anything on your mind.
  • Add an AI provider key (Settings → AI) and ask the model to summarize a long note.
  • Drag an inbox item into Todos to give it a due date, or into Notes to expand it into something permanent.
